My bike was stolen. Every cloud a silver lining, here's an article about dealing with theft!

Excellent issue of Quench this time round, not too many mistakes either! I've seen people reading my Cliches article round campus which is great.
I also wrote a little addendum, in this week's GR, to my friend and current flatmate Jamie McKay's EU referendum article, to remind students to vote. You'll also see one of my tweets but that wasn't intentional! This week I finally got a chance to write the part of the paper I always enjoy reading, This Week In History. Read it on page 2 in this Issuu edition.
Meanwhile in Science I wrote about obesity affecting people's sense of distance... And in Comment I got into a fight about sex education! With exam season temporarily over, it's time to write as many articles as I can.
In Gair Rhydd science, I wrote about Ravens. I also wrote about the Aussie film The Smuggler, aka the Mule for Quench Film and TV. Fellow QGames ed Saman and I went to the opening of a new attraction here in Cardiff, Escape Rooms, and I gave it a verdict. Next week in Gair Rhydd there should be two articles from me hopefully, and I'm working on a cool new Quench Games piece a bit like the one I did for the Wales Game Dev Show. The new issue of Quench is out as always.
However you may notice a mistake which is that the Lego Worlds joke award was printed twice, here is the corrected article on the site. I also wrote an article about the Swedish rape and refugees issue. A bit more serious this one. Here is the paper and here is the direct link. I've been working a little bit on this site. Most importantly, I've added the BUFF section where I'm going to be posting critiques/analysis/other stuff relating to films, books etc. Have a read of the Gone Girl article, which is far from finished but hopefully I can clean it up. I also purchased a new domain name, but I'm unable to properly link it as Weebly has withdrawn that feature from their free package. I'm having a look at a few other sites, but the site is here for now and the only difference is that you can get here from tomverse.uk and to the Buff page with buff.tomverse.uk. This makes no difference to the site itself, as they're just redirects.
Thanks for reading, enjoy the Buff section. It's good fun to write. Two excellent pieces this week if I do say so myself...
Up now on the Quench website (featured, no less), my Hunter S. Thompson-esque account of when my friend and I tried speed dating at the Students Union (got some pretty good reviews by people who've read it, actually, which is unusual- unusual in that they read it at all!) Speed Dating Uncovered Also in this week's Gair Rhydd, I did a spotlight on the university's trampoline club. It was different, that's for sure! This is also one of my longest student media articles at 1000 words. Gair Rhydd 1067 Sport Spotlight: Trampolining This issue of Quench features a number of things from me, a light dusting of editing on the Video Games section as usual alongside Saman, some embarrassing pictures of me, and a funny little confessional about wanting to be a post office person.
Read it now! A sombre comment piece in this week's Gair Rhydd. Is the uni playing with PEOPLE'S LIVES? Drama! Gr 1062
This article was written extremely quickly, I think it was probably written AND edited in under thirty minutes. The end result is a bit grisly! |
